Today Chinese ferrosilicon producers lifted quotation again, with an increase of RMB50/mt. Some Gansu and Ningxia ferrosilicon producers raised quotation, thus mainstream FeSi75# being RMB6,000-6,100/mt(USD980-997/mt, export duty not included) and FeSi72# being RMB5,800-5,900/mt(USD948-964/mt,export duty not included), ex-work tax-inclusive price by acceptance.
As the manager of one large Gansu ferrosilicon producer said, they were now running at about 60% of capacity and the output could not meet the demand of orders. He said they would not operate all the furnaces due to the unsatisfactory ferrosilicon price. The trading price of FeSi75# ranged from RMB5,900/mt(USD964/mt,export duty not included) to RMB6,100/mt(USD997/mt, export duty not included) at which the volume was only several dozens of tons. However, the general rate operation was lower in Ningxia than that of other ferrosilicon-producing areas.
As for the trend of later ferrosilicon price, many ferrosilicon producers were doubtful about it. FeSi price was unlikely to rise much in mid and late September and it would be based on steel mills’ October purchase price of ferrosilicon and October steel price.
