The late February had come, but there hadn"t been centralized tenders of steel mills in China. , which was nearly half of single month volume from September of 2013. Shasteel as Jiangsu's largest steelmaker would be much affected by reduction of 7 million tons of crude steel capacity for five years.
What's more, the number one steel province- Hebei province was forced to reduce 60 million tons of crude steel capacity for the coming five years. The target accounted for three quarters of total reduction capacity. Last Sunday Hebei provincial officials led by Hebei government carried out the second “Sunday Centralized Dismantling Movement” which involved tearing down of 16 iron blast furnaces and 3 converters that belong to 15 steel mills. This time alone reduced 6.7 million tons of iron-making capacity and 1.5 million tons of steel-making capacity. Under the double pressures of elimination of excessive crude steel capacity and greatly focused environmental protection issue, steel mills were predicted to continue lowering purchase price and reducing purchase volume.
