It is reported that Korean steelmaker giant POSCO planned to start trial production next month at its stainless steel cold rolling mill in Kocaeli, Turkey.
Meanwhile, Posco Assan TST is owned 60% by Posco, 10% by Posco’s trading subsidiary Daewoo International and the balance by local CR and galvanized strip producer Kibar Holding respectively.
POSCO has invested approximately USD 350 million for new steel plant in Turkey with an annual steel production capacity to 200,000 tonne in the first phase.
The new mill will be able to produce 0.3 3 mm thick CR stainless coil, up to 1,600 mm wide in order to meet demand of electric appliances and automobiles industries
